Messerschmitt Me 262B-1a Werknr 110639, above, arrived at the National Museum of Naval Aviation at Pensacola, Florida, USA on September 30. The only genuine two-seat trainer ’262 in the world, it had previously resided at the Wings of Freedom Museum at Willow Grove Naval Air Station (NAS), Pennsylvania.

The Messerschmitt is currently in the storage hangar, but will soon go on public in the museum’s new display building.
After being captured at Schleswig in May 1945, this ’262 was taken to the USA and test-flown at NAS Patuxent River. In 1993 the US Navy agreed to loan the machine to the Messerschmitt 262 Project in Everett, Washington, as a pattern aircraft for its flying replicas.
