FAST to build Cody replica
January 29, 2007
A project to build a static replica of Samuel Franklin Cody's British Army Aeroplane No 1A — in which the pioneer aviator made the first successful powered flight in Britain on October 16, 1908 — has been launched by the Farnborough Air Sciences Trust (FAST), to mark the event's centenary in 2008.
This is just a taster - see March's Aeroplane magazine for more.
S.F. Cody made the first powered, sustained and controlled flight in the UK in his British Army Aeroplane No 1 at Farnborough on October 16, 1908. FAST is now making a static replica.
