Another Spitfire airborne

Following a six-year rebuild with Classic Aero Engineering at Thruxton, Supermarine Spitfire Tr.9 SM520 made a 15min test flight on October 17 with Jonathon Whaley at the controls. Built as a single-seat HF.IX in November 1944, it was rediscovered in a scrapyard in Cape Town during in the 1970s and moved to the UK in 1989.
